Metro Last Light

Deep Silver productions have announced that they need a further 2 months to improve their upcoming post-apocalyptic first-person shooting game Metro: Last Light. The official release date has been put forward to May as of today. The title is being developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver.

Due for a release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC consoles, the game will now release in Europe on May 17th and in North America on May 14th 2013. The title was originally scheduled for a big launch this month in March and is the follow up to the 2010 Metro 2033.

Metro: Last Light is set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow, Russia, following a global nuclear war. The survivors have taken refuge in the underground metro tunnels, where factions fight for control over resources and power. In terms of storyline, players assume the role of Artyom, a young soldier, as he navigates the dark and dangerous tunnels of the metro system.

The game continues the story from the previous installment, Metro 2033, as Artyom becomes embroiled in a conflict between different factions while also facing the threat of mutated creatures known as the Dark Ones.

It combines elements of first-person shooting, stealth, and survival horror. Players will engage in intense combat encounters with both human enemies and mutated creatures, while also making choices that can impact the game’s storyline and multiple endings. The title emphasises resource management and survival mechanics, as players scavenge for supplies and utilise various weapons and equipment.

The FPS’s developers plan to waste no time with the two additional months they have to prepare the final stages of the game. Look out for more news on this story that we will cover in the next two months.
