505 Game have today revealed that there will be a new installment in the Sniper Elite series with Sniper Elite 3 on it’s way next year in 2014. The game will be released on the current gen consoles as well as the next-gen consoles. Rebellion will be the ones who take up responsibility to publish the game on the PC.
Sniper Elite 3 will not be available on the Nintendo Wii U however, but there might be a version announced in the future. The main character Karl Fairburne will be back to continue the storyline of the series. The latest edition will allow players to choose their path in the game so that different events and endings occur.
The previous games just relied on basic story-lines that didn’t change or offer any additional lifespan to the game. Rebellion have said that they want to keep the fantastic world war 2 setting and include a sandbox feature to make the game even better.
Sniper Elite V2 will be launching on the Wii U later on in the fall of this year, Nintendo Wii U owners will have to wait and see if a Sniper Elite 3 version comes out on the platform though.
