Rockstar Games have announced that Grand Theft Auto Online is to be released on October 1st, 2013 and will ship alongside GTA V on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. You can watch the brand new official gameplay video for Grand Theft Auto Online below.
It will be a very dynamic world with up to 16 players being able to compete in an online environment. Although GTA Online will be completely tied-in with GTA 5 at first, Rockstar have said in a post that they plan to grow the title so that it becomes it’s own game and gathers followers for itself over time.
In Grand Theft Auto Online, you’ll have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.
