Konami have officially announced the release date for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 to be February 27th across Europe, February 28th 2014 in the UK, and Feb 25th in the US. It’ll launch on the Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, players assume the role of Gabriel Belmont, also known as Dracula, as he awakens in a modern-day city known as Castlevania. The game features both modern-day and gothic medieval settings, providing players with a contrast between the two time periods.
The gameplay combines exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving elements. Players control Dracula, who possesses a variety of supernatural abilities and a powerful weapon called the Void Sword. As they progress through the game, players can acquire additional weapons and upgrade their skills to take on stronger enemies and bosses.
The story in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 follows Gabriel Belmont’s struggle to regain his powers and confront the forces of darkness that threaten the world. Along the way, players will encounter familiar characters from the Castlevania series and uncover the secrets of Dracula’s past.
It will be MercurySteam’s final installment of the third-person action-adventure vampire slaying game. There’s not many details on how exactly the title is to be improved on it’s predecessor as of yet, but more info is expected to be distributed over the coming months ahead.
It’s believed that the weapon-sets and magic attacks are to be tweaked slightly to improve overall combat. A new feature entitled “Mastery” will see the character-levelling system implemented as well.
