Watch All Three New GTA V Trailers Released Today

Rockstar Games has released three new Grand Theft Auto V trailers, each focusing on one of the game’s playable protagonists: Michael, Franklin and Trevor.

The three videos provide the clearest look yet at the personalities and backgrounds of GTA V’s central characters ahead of the game’s September release.

Michael is presented as a former criminal living in relative luxury with his family, although his home life appears increasingly strained. His trailer contrasts suburban wealth with the violent lifestyle he is trying to leave behind.

Franklin operates in Los Santos and appears more closely tied to street crime, cars and gang activity. His footage shows him trying to move beyond low-level criminal work while becoming involved in larger opportunities.

Trevor is the most unpredictable of the trio. His trailer depicts a violent and chaotic lifestyle in the more rural areas outside central Los Santos, including fights, explosions and criminal activity across Blaine County.

The three-protagonist structure is one of GTA V’s biggest changes from previous entries, allowing players to move between Michael, Franklin and Trevor as their stories begin to overlap.

Rockstar had already shown more of the game through new GTA V screenshots released in March, including scenes involving scuba diving, motorbikes and skydiving.

The new character trailers arrive several months after Rockstar moved GTA V’s release date to September 17, delaying the game from its earlier spring launch window.

Grand Theft Auto V is currently scheduled to release on September 17, 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. PC and Wii U versions have not been officially announced.

Rockstar continued expanding the pre-release campaign over the following months, eventually releasing the official GTA V trailer ahead of launch.
