Key Highlights:

  • A PlayStation logo was spotted on Bethesda’s Creation Kit website, hinting at a potential Starfield PS5 port.
  • Microsoft’s recent trend of bringing exclusives to PlayStation suggests Starfield may follow.
  • Phil Spencer previously stated there’s no reason Starfield couldn’t release on PS5.

Recent developments suggest that Starfield, Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, may soon be making its way to PlayStation 5.

A PlayStation logo was spotted on the Bethesda Creation Kit website, fuelling speculation that Microsoft is preparing to bring the game to Sony’s platform.

While there is no official confirmation yet, Microsoft’s recent strategy of expanding its game portfolio to non-Xbox platforms lends credibility to the possibility.

Evidence Suggesting Starfield’s PS5 Release

The strongest indicator of a potential PlayStation release comes from the Starfield Creation Club website.

A Reddit user, Dollar99Man, discovered a PlayStation logo listed under supported platforms for “Falkland Systems Ship Services,” a mod on Bethesda’s Creation Kit page.

The listing was quickly removed, but not before being widely circulated online. This could indicate a backend update in preparation for a formal announcement.

Additionally, another mod, “WIP—Ship Decals,” created by ValleysEdge, still displays a PlayStation logo at the time of writing.

This further suggests that some form of PlayStation integration is being tested or mistakenly revealed ahead of time.

Microsoft has been gradually shifting its approach to exclusivity, making select titles available on PlayStation.

The company has already released Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush on Sony’s platform, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to follow.

This shift aligns with Phil Spencer’s recent statements, where he noted that Microsoft is open to bringing more of its titles to PlayStation.

Earlier this year, Spencer stated:

“I don’t see a reason why Starfield couldn’t be on PlayStation 5.”

While this is not a confirmation, it does indicate that Microsoft is considering expanding Starfield beyond its current exclusivity on Xbox and PC.

With a few setting tweaks, the science fiction RPG is playable even on the Steam Deck.

For PlayStation users, this news is significant. Since its release, Starfield has remained an Xbox console exclusive, despite strong demand from PS5 owners.

If Microsoft decides to port the game, it could signal a broader change in its strategy, potentially making other Bethesda titles more accessible across platforms.

While no official announcement has been made, the appearance of PlayStation logos on Bethesda’s official modding website is a strong hint.

Until Microsoft or Bethesda provides concrete details, fans will have to wait and see whether Starfield will make its long-awaited debut on PS5.
