Well, well, well, what do we have here? A slice of video gaming intrigue as Naraka: Bladepoint, that previously chummy Xbox exclusive, does a cheeky leap over the virtual wall and lands squarely on the PS5 playground. And would you believe it? It’s as free as a bird!

Breaking the Xbox Exclusivity – A PlayStation 5 Debut.

Not just some uppity, gated bird, but an open-world, free-to-play bird! Queue the triumphant fanfare, for the 60-player PvP battle royale game has shed its Xbox exclusivity. That’s right, the virtual floodgates are now open to PlayStation maestros, Xbox aficionados, and PC gamers. All can plunge headlong into the exhilarating vortex of action simultaneously.

But let’s backpedal a tad. Naraka: Bladepoint is no ordinary battle royale game. This isn’t your common-or-garden “spot, shoot, and scamper” type of affair. Oh no! This dandy brings a brand new spin to the typically gun-crazed genre. It’s one of the rare breed that flexes its muscles with melee-focused combat. Out with the humdrum rifles and machine guns, and in with the sabres and pikes. The emphasis here is on slick combos and slicker parries, on outwitting your adversary rather than blasting them to smithereens.

Why Naraka: Bladepoint is More Than Just Your Average Battle Royale

It’s not just a test of wits, though. You’ll be nimble as a mountain goat, what with wall-running, grappling hooks and a slew of other parkour manoeuvres to zip across the expansive landscape. It doesn’t stop there, either. Naraka: Bladepoint has a smorgasbord of extra-curricular content to enjoy, including some nifty solo campaigns for those who fancy a breather from the PvP antics.

Now, if I haven’t captured your attention yet, listen to this. NetEase Games is popping the champagne for Naraka: Bladepoint’s two-year anniversary by making it free-to-play on PS4 and PS5. The Xbox exclusive already had a staggering 20 million players, and with this PlayStation extravaganza, that could balloon even further. Veteran players can also scoop up some anniversary specials, including the tantalising Viper Ning outfit.

Free to Play NARAKA BLADEPOINT

On top of all this, it’s available on Game Pass, one of the main reasons this combat romp hit the 20 million player milestone. To add a cherry to this already hefty cake, the Game Pass is currently advertising the Deluxe Edition of Naraka: Bladepoint under its ‘Recently Added’ tab. Fancy a sprinkle of 300 hero coins? Some unique Dual Blades Lacerator skin? How about the exclusive Spear skin, or a stash of ten immortal treasures? It’s all up for grabs.

And the main attraction? A spectacular crossover with the NieR series. NieR Replicant and Nier: Automata, the cult-classic duo, have a loyal fanbase, and this fusion could reel in even more gamers to the melee-based battle royale. While the teaser trailer from NetEase is enigmatic, it confirms the involvement of 2B, a NieR series fan favourite. NieR enthusiasts are undoubtedly praying for a playable 2B character and cameos from other beloved characters, like 9S, A2, and Kaine.
