A stunning new trailer for the upcoming Prince of Persia The Lost Crown provides a deeper look at the game’s mystical setting and moment-to-moment gameplay. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and coming January 18th, 2024, The Lost Crown blends mythic Persian environments with frenetic action platforming.

Protagonist Sargon possesses the unique ability to manipulate the fabric of time and space using an arsenal of unlockable Time Powers. This grants him control over his surroundings, from rewinding time to freezing enemies temporarily.

Combat Mixed With Platforming

The new footage showcases Sargon combining these supernatural talents with more conventional melee weapons and platforming reflexes. Elaborate combo strings dispatch sinister corrupted beings and beasts pulled straight from Persian mythology.

Ubisoft only recently released a gameplay trailer last month and this latest video will no doubt get more eyes on the game leading up to release.

The world itself is a vertical playground, forcing Sargon to regularly Wall Jump, balance across spikes, swing on poles, and air dash to traverse areas. Solving environment-based puzzles also allows progress.

This mysterious realm spans diverse biomes and gigantic landmarks fit for an ancient legend. Lavish palaces, precarious caverns, overgrown ruins, and more comprise the regions players will travel through while uncovering secrets.

Taking on side quests from villagers expands the journey further. Defeating colossal bosses at each new turn then grants more Time Powers and combat options to tailor Sargon’s skills.

First New Prince of Persia Entry in Over a Decade

The Lost Crown represents the first major new Prince of Persia title since 2010’s The Sands of Time remake. By blending the series’ platforming roots with some fresh RPG-lite progression, Ubisoft hopes to deliver an exciting revival.

Fans can get a taste starting January 11th via a free demo before the full release on January 18 across consoles and PC. This mythic Persian action-adventure looks to deliver thrilling battles and kinetic traversal when it arrives in early 2024 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Seres X/S.
