Alongside Eddy Gordo’s arrival, the Tekken 8 patch 1.03.01 introduced several new features and gameplay changes to the game.
The most significant addition is the Tekken Fight Pass, a battle pass system that allows players to earn various cosmetic rewards by completing daily and weekly missions in online matches.
The update also made improvements to the online experience, including the ability to terminate matches with poor network connections, as well as various bug fixes and adjustments to character move properties and combos.
While some of these changes have had unintended consequences, the developers have acknowledged the need for further balance adjustments in a future update scheduled for May 2024.
Bandai Namco revealed the patch notes on their official website but we have posted them for you to browse above.
Looking Ahead to the Future
With Eddy Gordo now available and the Tekken Fight Pass system in place, gamers have plenty of new content and systems to engage with. His avatar skin is only available through the Tekken Shop which will probably not go down well within the community.
The introduction of Microtransactions never pleases any fan-base in gaming and this title will be no different!
However, the upcoming May 2024 update, which the developers have stated will focus on buffing underperforming characters and making adjustments to overpowered moves, will likely have a more significant impact on the game’s overall balance and meta.
The ongoing support and balance updates for the latest entry demonstrate the studio’s commitment to ensuring the fighting title remains a premier beat ’em up experience for both casual and hardcore fans alike.
