Planet 47 Games has announced a major new update for Bigfoot Life, alongside a 75% discount as part of the Steam Winter Sale. The promotion coincides with what the studio calls the “Transplantaversary”, marking one year since solo developer and studio owner Wes Abrams received a life-saving bone marrow transplant.
The announcement ties the game’s ongoing development directly to Abrams’ personal journey, with much of Bigfoot Life created during extended hospital stays, including work completed from his hospital bed.
“Working on Bigfoot Life got me through some incredibly difficult times, my donor gave me a second chance at life, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate that than by giving the game a huge discount so more players can have access to it.”

Abrams also used the announcement to thank donors more broadly, describing them as “a blessing” and crediting them with making the game’s continued development possible.
New Features Arrive in the Latest Bigfoot Life Update
The update itself introduces several notable gameplay and technical additions aimed at expanding immersion and addressing player feedback.
One of the headline additions is a new Wood and Tree Knocking system, allowing players to spend Bigfoot Points on more meaningful environmental interactions. This feature also connects to the newly teased Land of Mystery, an area where players may encounter other cryptids lurking beyond the familiar forest.
A new First-Person Camera Mode has also been added. Unlike Bigfoot Vision, this mode removes visual effects, offering a cleaner, more grounded way to explore the world from Bigfoot’s perspective.
Performance improvements are another key focus. Player feedback revealed that while Bigfoot Life runs well on lower-end machines and even Steam Deck, some high-end systems were experiencing inconsistent performance due to the Groom-based fur system.
To address this, the update introduces a card-based fur option on the Low setting. While less visually detailed, it provides a significant performance boost for affected players. Planet 47 Games confirmed that the update also includes a range of smaller fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
Steam Winter Sale Discount Now Live
Alongside the update, Bigfoot Life is available at 75% off during the Steam Winter Sale, making this the most accessible entry point yet for new players. The discount is positioned as both a celebration and a thank-you to the community that has supported the project throughout its development.
