The PSN is offline for some rather unscheduled and unannounced maintenance for the time being. There has not been an official announcement yet from Sony, but gamers should be expecting one very shortly. We used Status.PlayStation to clarify on whether or not it was just in the UK area.
It seems not from the feedback that site gave us, saying that the PSN is down for all of mankind in a very humorous way. The social networking websites Twitter and Facebook have been going crazy in the past few hours over this inconvenience.

Many Facebookers and Tweeters have vented their anger and disappointment over the whole incident. Lets hope that Sony sort out the issues fast so all the gamers can get back to their games and enjoy themselves again.
