PopCap has revealed Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time, confirming that the long-awaited tower defence sequel is now scheduled to launch in July 2013.
The new teaser does not reveal much gameplay, but it finally gives the sequel its full title and narrows the release window to July. PopCap had previously indicated that Plants vs. Zombies 2 would arrive during the first half of 2013, making the new announcement a more specific update on when players can expect it.
Community Marketing Manager Stephanie Bayer also confirmed the news on X/Twitter, announcing that Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is coming in July.

PopCap has not yet announced a specific day within July or confirmed the full platform lineup. The developer has only said so far that the sequel will introduce new features, settings and situations while expanding on the original Plants vs. Zombies formula.
More details are expected as PopCap moves closer to launch. The sequel’s release plans were expanded the following month, when Plants vs. Zombies 2 received a July 18 worldwide release date alongside further gameplay details.
That date ultimately changed again, with Plants vs. Zombies 2 later delayed beyond July before eventually launching worldwide on iOS in August 2013.
