Namco Bandai have announced that Soul Calibur 2 HD Online will make it’s way to consoles in the near future.
The release of the High-Definition remake is for the 10th anniversary of the classic fighting simulator and the reboot will also have added online support too.
Namco Bandai marketing chief Chris Gilbert said: “For more than a decade the Soul Calibur franchise has been one of the pre-eminent head-to-head fighting franchises for consoles.”
“Soul Calibur 2 HD Online lets fans relive an important chapter of the series’ history with beautifully enhanced graphics and new online gameplay,” he added.
Way back in 2002 Soul Calibur 2 was launched on Arcade and made it’s way to major consoles the following year. The series has a big cult following amongst video game fans of the fighting genre.
On each of the platforms, the title features exclusive characters which included Heihachi from the Tekken series, comic book legend Spawn, and Link from The Legend of Zelda.
Soul Calibur 2 HD Online will be making it’s way to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the autumn of 2013 this year.
