Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake is a treasure trove of secrets and unlockables that will keep players engaged and searching for more. From powerful weapon upgrades to hidden gems waiting to be discovered, the game has something for everyone. However, if players want to unlock the feature of unlimited ammo, they’ll need to put in some extra effort.

Unlike in other shooter games where unlimited ammo can be obtained through exploiting glitches, this feature is a legitimate part of the game that requires players to complete certain tasks or meet certain conditions in order to obtain it. So, if you’re willing to put in the work, you can unlock the ultimate weapon and take on the game’s toughest challenges with ease.

The Easy Way

In Resident Evil 4, the term “unlimited” ammo can be misleading since only a few weapons have access to it. The game offers three somewhat accessible weapons with infinite ammo, which are the Infinite Handcannon, Infinite Chicago Sweeper and the Infinite Rocket Launcher. Therefore, for most players, the “unlimited” ammo feature is limited in a significant way. Players must obtain and carefully manage these rare weapons to gain an edge in combat against the game’s most challenging foes.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Rocket Launcher

Similar to the original game, the Infinite Launcher in Resident Evil 4 remake can be unlocked by successfully completing the game and starting a new one. However, in a rather unfortunate similarity to the real world, the dramatic weapon has also fallen prey to inflation. Back in 2005, the Infinite Launcher could be purchased for 1 million pesetas at the start of a New Game Plus. In the remake, however, players will have to pay a whopping 2 million pesetas for the same privilege. It’s clear that the markups on this weapon are getting out of hand, and players will have to work even harder to save up for this powerful tool. The Infinite Handcannon

Like the Infinite Launcher, the Infinite Handcannon in RE4 remake also requires some effort to obtain. Players must complete the game on the Professional difficulty setting without using any bonus weapons to gain access to this brawny revolver. Alternatively, players can unlock the Handcannon more easily by earning S rankings on three of the game’s The Mercenaries DLC levels. Once obtained, the Infinite Handcannon is a formidable weapon that can make short work of even the game’s toughest enemies.

Obtaining the Infinite Chicago Sweeper in the game is a challenging task that requires significant effort from the player. To unlock this submachine gun, players must finish the game on Professional difficulty, which only becomes available after completing the game once with an “A rank” within seven hours. However, obtaining the gun itself is not enough as players must also max out the Sweeper’s upgrades, with the final upgrade imbuing it with the coveted infinite ammo. It’s clear that players must put in the time and effort to obtain this weapon, but it’s worth it for those who want to breeze through the game’s toughest challenges.

The Hard Way (Recommended)

Now you might be scratching your head and wondering why would i want to do it the toughest way and why exactly is this recommended?

Well there’s good news and bad news for those looking to have infinite ammo in their arsenal in Resident Evil 4 remake. On the positive side, it’s possible to modify every single gun to provide infinite bullets. However, the downside is that pursuing this option will make the game significantly harder for the player. In essence, players must make a tough decision whether to sacrifice some challenge for the convenience of having unlimited ammo or challenge themselves by playing the game without infinite ammo. Ultimately, it’s up to the player’s preference and playstyle to decide which path to take.

The path to achieving true unlimited ammo in Resident Evil 4 remake is an unexpected one, requiring players to equip a seemingly innocuous item that looks incredibly silly – a set of adorably fluffy cat ears. To obtain these ears, players must complete a challenging playthrough on Professional difficulty and reach an S plus ranking, or beat the game in a lightning-fast 5-and-a-half hours. However, the reward is immense. Once equipped, the cat ears will make all of Leon’s guns unconquerable, and transform the typically stoic and serious Leon into an absolute laughing stock. It’s a trade-off that’s certainly worth the effort for those who are up to the challenge.
