EA Sports and Codemasters have revealed details on the upcoming October content update for F1 23. Additions include new pro challenges, the 2023 F2 season, livery updates, and more.

Headlining the update are additional Pro Challenges allowing players to race against Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc at select Grand Prix events throughout October. A video uploaded to the official YouTube channel shows off the challenge of beating Verstappen’s lap time at Suzuka using a realistic wheel setup.

The full list of October’s gameplay updates includes:

  • Time trial challenges against Verstappen at the Japanese GP from September 26th – October 2nd. Beating his time of 1:28.177 earns his special in-game helmet. More challenges follow at the US, Mexico, and Brazil Grand Prix events.
  • On October 16th, a patch adds the free 2023 F2 season and the updated sports liveries. F1 eSports champions like 2022 winner Lucas Blakeley will also debut as playable icons.
  • “Replay Events” at the Qatar, US, and Mexico Grand Prix allow players to re-experience the real-life races from the perspective of any driver with identical grids.
  • Curated “Scenario Events” featuring Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Perez.

By integrating current real-world F1 happenings like liveries and champions into the game on an ongoing basis, EA Sports provides the most authentic and up-to-date racing experience possible. The iconic tracks and drivers feel alive.

Giving players opportunities to test themselves against today’s top talents like Verstappen raises the stakes. And the ability to rewrite history by piloting past races from new vantage points adds engrossing variety.
