Disney’s Accidental Game Release Revelation

Previously announced with only a vague “2024” window, Star Wars Outlaws was momentarily repositioned on a more defined release track when Disney Parks Blog hinted at a “late 2024” release window.

The announcement was soon disputed by representatives from Ubisoft, who clarified that the game is still on track to release sometime in 2024, without specifying a more confined release window.

Specifically set in the period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the game follows the adventures of protagonist Kay Vess and her companion Nix as they venture across multiple planets in the Star Wars universe, in an attempt to execute “the biggest heist the galaxy has ever seen.”

Disney’s inadvertent faux pas did, however, provide fans with a glimpse of what’s to come from the highly anticipated game, given the brief details officially released in the blog post.

Interestingly, the Star Wars Outlaws game is expected to present familiar and new worlds, along with familiar and new characters including the notorious Jabba The Hutt.

Visiting some of the planets introduced in the sequel films of the franchise, the game boasts an impressive aspect of allowing players to travel seamlessly from these planets into space without the use of traditional loading screens.

While eager fans might still have to wait a while to get their hands on a confirmed release date, Ubisoft’s upcoming Summer Game Fest has been indicated as a probable platform for the unveiling of more details about the ambitious game, with the potential for an official release date to be confirmed.

The suspense is building up, leaving fans eager to continue to speculate on a suitable date for the release of the open-world title.

Star Wars Outlaws is setting up for a 2024 launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. May the force (and a sturdy blaster) be with you!
