Treyarch has unveiled exciting updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as part of the upcoming Season 2.

Fans of the franchise’s acclaimed Zombies mode can look forward to a new map, The Tomb, along with significant quality of life improvements.

The announcements, made on 115 Day via X/Twitter, celebrate the dedication of the Zombies community.

A Journey to the Ancient Catacombs

Set in the aftermath of Citadelle des MortsThe Tomb takes players to a mysterious excavation site.

This map introduces ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., replete with claustrophobic spaces and layered verticality.

Players will join the core crew—Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya—in a quest following Gabriel Krafft’s clues to uncover the secrets of the Sentinel Artifact.

Treyarch promises gameplay akin to the fan-favourite Liberty Falls map, focusing on tighter environments that heighten both tension and replayability.

The map also brings a “reimagined Wonder Weapon,” a nostalgic nod to classic Zombies mechanics, and an array of Easter Eggs to uncover.

New Quality of Life Features

Season 2 isn’t just about new maps; it also introduces updates to enhance the overall experience for Zombies players:

  • Challenge Tracking: Players can now manually track up to ten Calling Card challenges and ten Camo challenges per mode. These are visible in lobbies and during gameplay when pausing.
  • Co-op Pausing: A long-requested feature, co-op pause allows party leaders to halt the action, provided all participants are part of the same party.
  • Loadout Retention: Players returning after being kicked for inactivity will retain their gear, Essence, and Salvage, avoiding the frustration of starting from scratch.
  • Custom HUD Presets: Separate HUD options for Zombies and multiplayer modes give players more control over their experience.

Since the game’s launch last October, Zombies mode has logged an impressive 480 million hours of playtime.

The introduction of Directed Mode in November significantly boosted Main Quest completion rates, from 3.38% to 8.23%, reflecting a shift toward more accessible gameplay for all players.

Players can earn double weapon XP, battle pass XP, and GobbleGum rewards, making it the perfect time to wrap up Season 1 challenges.

The eSports CDL Minor 1 tournament just finished, with Atlanta Faze becoming the eventual winners in an action packed finale.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 promises an engaging blend of nostalgia, innovation, and player-centric improvements.

As Treyarch continues to expand its Zombies lore, fans can expect The Tomb to offer a fresh yet familiar experience, with secrets waiting to be unearthed beneath the sands of time.
