Key Highlights:

  • Xbox Game Pass adds seven new titles in the first half of July 2025, including Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and High on Life.
  • Games are split across tiers: Standard, PC, and Ultimate.
  • Early access and classic retro titles also feature this month.

Microsoft has officially revealed the first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for July 2025, confirming a solid mix of RPGs, party games, and returning fan favourites.

A new entry on Xbox Wire confirmed that seven new titles are scheduled to join the service in the first two weeks, with different availability depending on the subscription tier.

Game Pass now operates across four main plans: Standard, Core, PC, and Ultimate. Standard includes console access without day-one releases, Core offers a limited selection alongside online play, PC focuses on Windows users, and Ultimate bundles everything together – including cloud support and exclusive perks.

Among the highlights this month is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remake, which launches day one on July 11th for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass users.

Players with the Deluxe Edition Upgrade will also receive three days of early access starting July 8th, along with additional playable characters including the Doom Slayer and The Revenant.

Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 – Full Lineup and Release Dates

Here’s the full list of confirmed games arriving during Wave 1 of the July 2025 schedule:

  • Legend of Mana – Console (Game Pass Standard) – July 2
  • Trials of Mana – Console (Game Pass Standard) – July 2
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse – Cloud, Console, PC (Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, Ultimate) – July 3
  • The Ascent – Cloud, Console, PC (Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, Ultimate) – July 8
  • Minami Lane – Cloud, Console, PC (PC Game Pass, Ultimate) – July 9
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 – Cloud, Console, PC (PC Game Pass, Ultimate) – July 11
  • High on Life – Cloud, Console, PC (Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, Ultimate) – July 15

High on Life originally launched on Game Pass in 2022 and became a surprise hit thanks to its offbeat humour and creative world design.

After a period away from the service, it returns this July to reintroduce players to its world ahead of the confirmed sequel. This is a notable move as it allows new subscribers to catch up before the next chapter launches.

More to Come Later in the Month

Beyond the initial wave, Microsoft has already confirmed a few more additions later in July.

Wheel World is set to join the platform on July 23rd, followed by the debut of Soulslike title Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on July 24th. Additionally, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to try Grounded 2 through the Game Preview programme starting July 29th.

Retro Collection Expands via Antstream Arcade

Alongside the modern additions, Xbox continues its partnership with Antstream Arcade to deliver more retro content.

The latest batch includes a selection of classic Activision titles from the ’80s and ’90s. This month’s retro picks include:

  • Cosmic Commuter
  • Heart of China
  • Skiing
  • Solar Storm
  • Subterranea

Tier-Specific Access Still Matters

It’s important to note that not every title is available across all tiers. For example, Minami Lane skips the Standard tier, and Core subscribers don’t get any of the Wave 1 titles.

As Microsoft continues to refine its Game Pass offering, understanding what’s available to each user tier is key for subscribers looking to get the most from their plan.

Wave 1 of July’s lineup brings both variety and quality, with a balance of nostalgic returns and fresh titles.

As the second half of the month approaches, more announcements are expected, but fans already have plenty to look forward to across all platforms.
