Marvel’s Wolverine Gameplay Trailer Shows Logan’s Savage Combat

Wolverine rides a motorcycle through a forested area, with Marvel's Wolverine prominently displayed above. Trailer 2 label included.

Key Highlights:

  • Marvel’s Wolverine launches Fall 2026 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
  • Trailer 2 shows Logan in brutal combat against foes like Omega Red and teases Mystique’s involvement.
  • Locations include Madripoor, Canada, and Tokyo, highlighting a globe-trotting storyline.

Marvel’s Wolverine finally stepped into the spotlight with a full gameplay reveal, and it’s already shaping up to be one of Insomniac’s boldest projects. The second trailer which includes gameplay, gave fans their first extended look at Logan’s combat, world, and supporting cast, confirming a darker and more violent tone than anything seen in the studio’s Spider-Man series.

The trailer wastes no time showcasing Wolverine’s adamantium claws in action. From the smoky Princess Bar to the frozen backwoods of Canada, Logan cuts through enemies with vicious speed. The animations sell his ferocity, mixing berserker rage attacks with up-close dismemberment that pushes the M rating as far as Sony will allow.

From my own perspective, I’ve been waiting years to see a Wolverine game truly embrace his savagery. This looks like the closest we’ve come to matching the intensity of the character as seen in the comics and films.

But combat isn’t all the trailer had to show. Story details point to Logan confronting his dark past, with teases of the Reavers as one of the main enemy factions.

Long-time X-Men fans likely noticed Omega Red making his presence felt, and there’s even a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpse of Mystique, hinting that Logan’s loyalties and enemies will blur throughout the campaign.

A brief closing shot also teased a massive purple machine that looked suspiciously like a prototype Sentinel. If true, that could mark the first major crossover of mutant lore in an Insomniac title.

The game’s narrative setup introduces Wolverine as a man out of place, dragged back into the shadows of his past while exploring MadripoorTokyo, and other international hotspots. These locations aren’t just backdrops. They are an opportunity for Insomniac to push the RE Engine-style detail they’ve been refining with Spider-Man into more varied and destructive playgrounds.

It’s worth noting that Logan will be voiced by Liam McIntyre, bringing a mix of grit and raw emotion to the character. Add in authentic performances from familiar adversaries, and Marvel’s Wolverine looks set to deliver a definitive take on the mutant hero.

Insomniac has promised more updates in Spring 2026, but from what’s been shown so far, this isn’t just Spider-Man with claws. It’s a chance to finally play the Wolverine fantasy in full, violent, relentless, and unflinchingly personal.
