PUBG Mobile has teamed up with the Peaky Blinders IP in a new collaboration that brings Birmingham’s most notorious family into the battle royale. Running until 5 February, the crossover lets players drop in as Thomas, Arthur or John Shelby, complete with themed cosmetics, weapons, vehicles, music and a Thomas Shelby voice pack. It is one of the more unusual crossovers PUBG Mobile has hosted, leaning into mature, dialogue-driven IP rather than the usual superhero or anime tie-ins.
Players can take on the Shelby look with items like the Foggy City Thompson SMG, the Misty Soul UAZ and the Razor Newsboy hat. There are also new emotes such as Menacing Stride and Thumbs Up Approval, plus a Peaky Blinders parachute and a home wall decoration for PUBG Mobile’s housing feature.
Hearing Nick Cave’s Red Right Hand kick in as you enter a match is a nice touch and shows how much attention was paid to the tone of the show.
The centrepiece of the event is The Shelby Trials, a narrative-driven mode where players make decisions across four scenarios inspired by key moments from the series. The branching structure gives players choices between strategic and forceful approaches, which fits the Peaky Blinders tone better than a simple cosmetic drop would. Completing the trials unlocks themed rewards, including additional voice lines and collectibles.
From my perspective, this collaboration lands because it goes deeper than surface-level reskins.
Players are not just wearing flat caps, they are stepping into a small narrative container that reflects how the Shelbys operate. With so many brand crossovers flooding live-service games, the ones that integrate tone, music and decision-making tend to stand out.
PUBG Mobile is available for free on iOS and Android, and the Peaky Blinders event is live now through 5 February.
