Key Highlights:

  • IllFonic and Gun Interactive have revealed the first five playable Civilians for Halloween: The Video Game.
  • Civilians play a scavenging and rescue role as they try to survive Michael Myers across Haddonfield.
  • The horror game launches 8 September 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series and PC.

IllFonic and Gun Interactive have unveiled the first five playable Civilians for Halloween: The Video Game, giving fans their first real look at the “Heroes of Haddonfield”. These characters form the civilian side of the game’s asymmetrical survival setup, where players scavenge supplies, guide residents to safety and race to call the police before time runs out. Meanwhile, anyone controlling Michael Myers hunts from the shadows using abilities like Shape Jump to move unseen and strike without warning.

You can read all the characters bios on the official website which is where the information was first published.

The newly revealed characters include Thomas Armitage, a confident college football player who returns home every weekend to support his family; Jennifer Aarons, a type-A bookstore worker saving for college; Tanya Harrison, a social hub with a bubbly streak and dark humour; Rachel Calahan, a mortician-in-training with a taste for punk and the occult; and Marcus Navarro, a lone-wolf biker with ties to Haddonfield’s nightlife.

The studio says each Civilian offers distinct personalities and traits, with more details on mechanical differences still to come.

From what I’ve gathered until now,, the best angle here is how IllFonic and Gun Interactive are using civilians as more than simple victims. The developers describe the cast as an “immersive horror sandbox”, hinting at both single-player and multiplayer components where character traits might influence how players tackle objectives. If they can land meaningful asymmetry between Myers and the civilians, it could sit closer to something like Friday the 13th or The Texas Chain Saw Massacre than a traditional 1v4 escape formula.

Halloween: The Video Game releases 8 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
