Rayman Legends: Retold Screenshots Leak Ahead of Expected State of Play Reveal

Key Highlights:

  • Rayman Legends: Retold gameplay screenshots have leaked ahead of its expected reveal.
  • Leaks suggest Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition will be included at no extra cost.
  • The remake is reportedly launching on 1 October 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.

New gameplay screenshots from Rayman Legends: Retold have appeared online ahead of Ubisoft’s expected official announcement, giving fans an early look at the remake’s updated visual style.

The images reportedly surfaced after a media preview article was accidentally published before its embargo lifted. Although the article was quickly removed, screenshots were preserved online and have since been widely shared across gaming communities.

One of the biggest talking points is the game’s visual overhaul. According to those who have viewed the leaked images, the original watercolour-inspired presentation has been replaced with a more modern look. That change is already generating discussion among long-time fans, particularly because many considered the 2013 release visually timeless. You can view four new screenshots below:

More Than Just A Visual Upgrade

The leaks suggest that Rayman Legends: Retold will be more than a straightforward remaster.

Reports claim the remake will feature:

  • New levels
  • Additional gameplay features
  • Brand-new 3D gameplay sections
  • Local couch co-op support

The inclusion of new content may help justify Ubisoft’s decision to revisit a game that many players still regard as one of the best platformers of its generation.

Rayman Origins Could Be Included For Free

Another leak claims Ubisoft is planning to bundle Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition with Rayman Legends: Retold at no additional cost.

An enhanced version of Rayman Origins recently appeared on the Xbox Store before being removed. The listing referenced quality-of-life improvements and 4K support, leading many to assume it would be sold separately.

However, recent reports suggest purchasers of Rayman Legends: Retold will receive the upgraded version of Origins as part of the package, effectively turning the release into a two-game collection.

If accurate, that would significantly increase the value of the reported $39.99 price point.

No Online Co-op Reportedly Planned

While local multiplayer is expected to return, leaks indicate that online co-op will not be included.

That mirrors the original releases, though some fans had hoped Ubisoft would modernise the multiplayer experience for the remake. Back in 2021, Ubisoft cancelled a Rayman Remake game after early concept art was shared online and the iconic PlayStation mascot had been quiet ever since, until now.

Release Date Reportedly Set For October

According to the leaked information, Rayman Legends: Retold is scheduled to launch on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Nintendo Switch 2
  • PC

The reported release date is 1 October 2026.

With multiple leaks surfacing ahead of schedule, an official announcement now appears imminent. Ubisoft is widely expected to reveal the project during Sony’s latest State of Play presentation.
