Rockstar Games has officially revealed when players will be able to reserve Grand Theft Auto 6, while also giving fans their first look at the game’s box art ahead of release.
The developer confirmed that pre-orders for GTA 6 will begin on June 25 through digital storefronts, including the PlayStation Store, as well as selected retailers. The announcement provides another sign that Rockstar remains on track for the game’s November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Alongside the pre-order announcement, Rockstar shared the official cover artwork in a short video. The design keeps the familiar Grand Theft Auto style seen throughout the modern series, placing the game’s title in the centre and surrounding it with various panels highlighting characters and locations.
Protagonists Lucia and Jason take centre stage, while other sections showcase elements inspired by the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar’s take on Florida. The artwork includes alligators, flamingos, helicopters, boats and sports cars, all presented with the colourful pink and purple aesthetic associated with Vice City.
Fans also noticed that the tradition of featuring a helicopter in the upper-left corner of the cover continues, something that has appeared on every mainline Grand Theft Auto box art since Grand Theft Auto 3.
Despite finally confirming when pre-orders will go live, Rockstar stopped short of announcing how much Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost.
Pricing has been the subject of ongoing debate among players and analysts. A report from industry advisory firm Epyllion last year suggested that GTA 6 could become the first major release to carry a $100 price tag, though Rockstar has yet to comment on the speculation.
For now, fans will have to wait for further details regarding standard and special editions.
While the latest reveal focused on the cover art, many players are still hoping Rockstar will release another gameplay trailer before launch.
The studio previously released trailers in 2023 and 2025, both of which explored the story and introduced Lucia and Jason. Combined, those videos have attracted hundreds of millions of views as anticipation continues to build around one of the industry’s most highly anticipated games.
With pre-orders opening on June 25 and the November 19 launch date unchanged, fans now have another milestone to look forward to as Rockstar prepares for the return to Vice City.
