Rockstar Games has officially lifted the lid on Grand Theft Auto 6’s pricing and edition details ahead of pre-orders going live on June 25. The long-awaited open-world sequel will launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with fans able to pre-load the game starting November 12.
The standard edition of GTA 6 will cost $80, putting it above the now common $70 price point but below the previously rumoured $100 figure. Players who pre-order will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes a classic ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Ocean Beach Garage, exclusive outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, plus a retro-themed weapon pattern inspired by Vice City’s neon-soaked past.
Those looking for additional bonuses can opt for the Ultimate Edition, which is priced at $100. It comes with extra vehicles, weapons, clothing, customisation options and businesses spread throughout the game’s story.

Rockstar also confirmed a major detail that may disappoint collectors. While boxed copies will be available at launch, they won’t contain a physical disc. Instead, both standard and Ultimate Edition boxes will include a digital download code that can be redeemed ahead of release.
According to Rockstar, players who purchase the game before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. The company also noted that the launch version of GTA 6 will focus on the single-player experience, potentially hinting that the next iteration of GTA Online may arrive later, much like Grand Theft Auto 5’s multiplayer component.
From the way I see it, the $80 standard edition feels like a compromise between industry concerns over rising development costs and fan fears that GTA 6 would become the first mainstream game to launch at $100. The lack of a disc is arguably the bigger story, though. Rockstar has dealt with numerous leaks over the years, and moving launch copies to download codes could be one way to prevent early retail copies from appearing online before release.
Set in the fictional state of Leonida, GTA 6 follows Jason and Lucia after a seemingly easy score goes wrong, forcing the pair into a conspiracy that stretches across Vice City and beyond. With pre-orders beginning on June 25, the countdown to one of gaming’s biggest releases is now officially underway. What do you make of the price, are you happy?
