Is Mongraal Getting a Fortnite Icon Series Skin

Key Highlights:

  • Mongraal has teased a major announcement for June 26 across multiple streams and videos.
  • Fans believe the Fortnite star could finally be receiving an Icon Series skin.
  • A real-world event with MrSavage is also planned for June 27.

Fortnite fans are convinced that Mongraal could finally be getting his own Icon Series skin after the popular content creator launched a coordinated series of teasers ahead of June 26.

The speculation began when Mongraal unexpectedly appeared in several Twitch streams, gifting subscriptions and repeatedly telling creators to “be there on June 26.”

During a visit to Nick Eh 30’s stream, Mongraal simply dropped the message, prompting an emotional reaction from the creator.

“I’ll be there. I am tuning in on June 26th,” Nick Eh 30 said. “Whatever this is, bro, you’re a king in my eyes and you always will be.”

Mongraal then stopped by Lacy’s stream, gifting 200 subscriptions and once again hinting that something major was coming. The interaction immediately sparked Icon Series speculation among viewers, with chat filling up with theories that Epic Games could finally be giving the former Fortnite World Cup finalist his own cosmetic set.

Another appearance followed on HappyHappyGal’s stream, where Mongraal gifted 50 subscriptions and thanked the creator for being part of his journey. Although HappyHappyGal appeared genuinely surprised by the appearance, she promised viewers she would not let him down and said she was looking forward to whatever was being announced.

The teasing continued with a cinematic skit uploaded by Mongraal featuring fellow Icon Series creator Ali-A. In the video, the pair reminisced about playing together during the Fortnite Pro-Am before receiving a mysterious text message from Fortnite reading, “The duo is back. Find the chest.”

After embarking on a treasure hunt, the chest finally opens, revealing only one message:

“Use code Mongraal.”

The repeated emphasis on his creator code has only strengthened theories that something Fortnite-related is on the horizon.

Interestingly, longtime fans have pointed to an older clip from Chapter 5 in which Mongraal openly campaigned for an Icon Series skin. During the stream, he jokingly pitched multiple styles, including a Toy Story-themed onesie, a ripped Borderlands-inspired version, a “fat Mongraal as a kid” style and even an emo variant. He also suggested a keyboard pickaxe and enthusiastically praised Fortnite while asking Epic Games to consider making the cosmetic.

I personally believe the timing could be significant, with Toy Story content recently arriving in Fortnite, making the old clip feel strangely relevant.

More clues emerged when Mongraal posted another comedic video seemingly filmed at a restaurant owned by TheSpudBrothers. After ordering what was referred to as “The Mongraal Classic,” he was handed a large drink potion resembling a Fortnite shield item. When asked to pay, Mongraal simply responded with “Use code Mongraal,” leaving the confused waiter asking what that even meant.

Beyond June 26, Mongraal and MrSavage have announced an event called King Royal, which takes place on June 27 during England’s World Cup match. The Boiler Room House event will feature Fortnite 1v1s, challenges, meet-and-greets and a watch party, with free sign-ups available.

The timing has only added fuel to the Icon Series rumours. Previous Fortnite creator collaborations have often included community events and promotional appearances around the launch of new cosmetics.

Adding another layer to the speculation, Fortnite Underground recently shared an image of an unreleased outfit expected to arrive with update 41.10. Some players believe the character could represent one of the styles for a Mongraal Icon Series skin, pointing to an “M” visible on the belt as possible evidence. Others remain unconvinced and think the design could simply be unrelated.

In my opinion, the amount of teasing surrounding June 26 feels far more elaborate than a normal creator announcement. Between the stream appearances, gifted subscriptions, Ali-A collaboration, creator code messages and the King Royal event with MrSavage, Epic Games appears to be involved in some capacity. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but it’s easy to understand why many Fortnite fans believe Mongraal could finally be joining the Icon Series lineup.

Whatever the announcement turns out to be, fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
