Developer Lemorion 1224 announced the milestone on 5 July 2026, confirming over on X/Twitter that the colourful multiplayer game has reached the impressive sales figure less than a month after its 9 June release. The title previously surpassed 10 million copies before adding another 5 million sales in just nine days.
Priced at $5.99 on Steam, Meccha Chameleon has become one of this year’s biggest breakout successes. While its lower price means some premium releases have generated more overall revenue, no other game released on Steam in 2026 has matched its sales volume.
The multiplayer title offers a fresh take on hide-and-seek by splitting players into Hiders and Seekers. Hiders begin with completely white bodies and must paint themselves to blend into their surroundings, while Seekers attempt to spot the disguised players before time expires. The simple concept rewards creativity and has helped the game gain widespread attention across streaming platforms and social media.
