Indie developer T-Cat has announced MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile, an upcoming 3D sandbox action-comedy game for iOS and Android that lets players cause chaos as either a thief or G-Man. Both mobile versions are currently undergoing store review, although a release date has not been announced.
Designed specifically for portrait gameplay, MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile combines open-ended exploration with missions, unpredictable NPC behaviour and physics-based interactions. Players can carry, drop and throw objects, with seemingly ordinary activities potentially spiralling into ridiculous situations.
MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile features five explorable locations: a supermarket, hospital, luxury cruise ship, airport and Japanese onsen town. Speaking exclusively to GamesLatestNews, T-Cat confirmed that players unlock these locations by completing missions, rather than having access to every environment immediately.
The developer also confirmed that players can freely switch between the thief and G-Man roles. Both can explore the sandbox environments and interact with objects and NPCs, creating unpredictable situations through the game’s physics-driven systems.
The announcement trailer provides examples of the resulting chaos, including an ATM theft, a shark appearing inside a cruise ship and a ghost carrying a character into the sky.
There is also an important distinction between the mobile release and T-Cat’s other project.
MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile is a single-player experience, whereas the separate PC version is being developed for Steam with online Thief versus G-Man multiplayer supporting up to 20 players. The PC game is still in development, with no release date or public Steam store listing announced.
T-Cat confirmed to GamesLatestNews that MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile will be free-to-play with advertisements, which the developer intends to keep to a minimum. Optional paid content will also be available to help players save time.
The developer additionally confirmed that the game will support offline play once downloaded, allowing players to explore its sandbox environments without a continuous internet connection.
Players don’t have to wait for the mobile launch to experience a little of the chaos, however.
The developer has already released MANBIKI MINI MAYHEM, a separate browser game featuring two short challenges.
In THIEF RUN, players must carry an ATM to a destination 50 metres away while navigating the surrounding chaos. G-MAN CHALLENGE instead equips players with a handgun and tasks them with confronting a fallen samurai while avoiding pursuing ghosts.
The browser experience includes ten selectable character appearances, global rankings and the ability to share results. All ten characters have identical statistics, so choosing a different appearance does not provide a competitive advantage.
It is completely free to access without downloading additional software or creating an account. However, the mini-game is a standalone experience rather than a playable demo of the full mobile release.
I think that’s what makes T-Cat’s approach interesting. Instead of releasing a conventional demo, the studio has created something players can immediately share and compete over while the larger sandbox game works its way through the mobile storefront approval process.
The developer’s promotional materials also disclose that some character assets were created using AI-assisted image and 3D tools, although the extent of their use in the finished mobile game has not been detailed.
T-Cat is targeting a 2026 release for MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile, although both the iOS and Android versions are still undergoing store review and no specific launch date has been announced.
Players can register for MANBIKI MAYHEM Mobile launch notifications through the official website, selecting iOS, Android or both platforms and confirming their registration by email.
