Key Highlights:
- Eight selected Steam games are available without paying, including Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered, Hex Reverse and Last Gambit.
- Three offers have important claim deadlines, while newer free releases include Playable Archive and Townlet.
- November’s eight Humble Choice games are not free giveaways. The subscription costs £11.49 in the UK, and The Outer Worlds 2 uses Battle.net rather than Steam.

Free Steam games in November 2026 include several limited-time opportunities to secure full PC games permanently, alongside newer releases that can already be played without paying.
The most urgent offers are Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered, Hex Reverse and Last Gambit. All three have time-sensitive claim conditions, meaning players should add them to their libraries before their respective promotions finish.
There are also free releases worth exploring, including a short horror game from the creator of The Mortuary Assistant, a medieval desktop companion and a satirical voting simulator.
Here are eight games currently available, with their different access conditions clearly explained.
| Game | Free Access | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered | Free Steam key through Fanatical | November 6, 11:59pm GMT, or while keys last |
| Hex Reverse | Free now, becomes paid later | First 30 days after October 7 |
| Last Gambit | Free during Early Access, becomes paid at version 1.0 | Claim before November 13 |
| Playable Archive | Free-to-play release | No announced deadline |
| Townlet | Free-to-play release | No announced deadline |
| The Onion Voting Simulator 3D | Free-to-play release | No announced deadline |
| Down the Rabbit Hole Flattened | Currently free | No confirmed end date |
| No Results Found | Permanently free | No deadline |
Three Free Steam Games Worth Claiming Before Their Deadlines
Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered is being given away as part of Fanatical’s Birthday Bash promotion.
Developed by Bacon Bandit Games, the turn-based RPG replaces conventional attacks with word puzzles. Players spell words to damage monsters, collect gems and purchase upgrades, with additional challenges available through its Endless Mode.
The free Steam key is available through Fanatical until November 6 at 11:59pm GMT, or until the limited key supply runs out.
There are requirements. Players need a Fanatical account subscribed to its newsletter and a linked Steam account that has previously spent at least $5 or the local equivalent. Only one key can be claimed per account, and issued keys must be redeemed before November 20.
Hex Reverse takes a different approach, combining card battles with hexagonal territory control.
Each card has six numbered edges. Placing a stronger edge beside an opponent’s card converts it to your side, while new cards and abilities gradually expand the options available during each roguelike run.
Developer IsaoWorks launched the game on October 7 with a 30-day free access period. Anyone who adds it to their Steam library during that window retains access when the game becomes paid.
The third time-sensitive release is Last Gambit, a chess-inspired roguelite featuring unconventional pieces, evolving units and a branching campaign.
Instead of relying on standard chess rules, players can develop unusual pieces such as unicorns and phoenixes, combine units and challenge other players through online matches.
Its developer has confirmed that Last Gambit leaves Early Access on November 13, when its price increases from free to €4.99 or the regional equivalent. Anyone who adds the game beforehand can keep playing without purchasing the full release.
I would prioritise claiming these three before installing anything else. Their ownership conditions are tied to limited windows, whereas several of the other games below have no announced deadline.
Five More Steam Games Available Free
Playable Archive launched on October 26 from DarkStone Digital and DreadXP.
The first-person horror experience presents disturbing footage connected to an anonymous whistleblower and a New England couple investigating an unexplained discovery. It takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete, with no save system, so players need to finish it in one sitting.
Townlet, released November 5, is a small medieval village that lives above the Windows taskbar.
Created by solo developer Nadir Kaan Sezi, its unusual progression system turns deleted computer files into resources for a growing settlement. The developer says the game does not open, move or delete files itself. Players who establish a village by November 12 can also receive a commemorative Founder’s Stone.
The Onion Voting Simulator 3D is a free satirical game from Onion Interactive.
Released ahead of the US midterm elections, it turns the ordinary process of voting into a deliberately absurd interactive experience. It is a short comedy game rather than a traditional political strategy simulation.
Down the Rabbit Hole Flattened offers a non-VR adaptation of Cortopia Studios’ Wonderland adventure.
Players guide a girl searching for her lost pet through a fantasy world filled with puzzles, hidden collectibles and branching decisions. The developers have previously said they would provide at least 30 days’ notice before introducing a price, although no confirmed deadline is currently listed.
Finally, No Results Found remains permanently free.
The detective adventure was developed through Krafton’s Jungle Game Lab programme and attracted an Overwhelmingly Positive Steam reception following its August release. Unlike a temporary giveaway, there is no deadline for downloading it.
A Free Hunting Simulator 3 DLC Pack Is Also Available
Although it is not a complete game, Hunting Simulator 3 players can claim the Classic American Hunter Pack free until November 12 at 6pm GMT.
The normally paid DLC includes a Winchester Model 1892 Short Rifle, an American Foxhound companion and a Verney-Carron hat with three colour variants.
The important restriction is that Hunting Simulator 3 itself is not free. Players need the base game to use the additional content.
Are the Eight Humble Choice Games Free on Steam?
No. November’s Humble Choice selection includes eight games, but accessing them requires a paid membership.
For £11.49 in the UK, subscribers receive:
- Mafia: The Old Country, including the Gatto Nero and Padrino DLC packs
- The Outer Worlds 2
- Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
- Crisol: Theater of Idols
- Space Haven
- Dysmantle
- Squeakross: Home Squeak Home
Seven games provide Steam keys, while The Outer Worlds 2 requires Battle.net activation.
Unlike an ordinary subscription catalogue, the games remain playable after cancellation once their keys have been redeemed. However, that does not make the initial offer free.
The distinction is similar to the difference between genuine ownership giveaways and temporary trials. During September’s three free Steam giveaways, normally paid titles were reduced to £0 and permanently added to players’ libraries without requiring a paid membership.
For anyone specifically looking to spend nothing this November, the eight free games listed above are the more appropriate starting point.
