Black Ops 2 Nuketown Zombies Gets PS3 and PC Release Date

Nuketown Zombies will become available to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Season Pass holders on PlayStation 3 and PC on 17 January 2013.

The official Call of Duty account announced the date after Xbox 360 Season Pass holders received access to the map in December. Microsoft’s console therefore had approximately one month of earlier access.

Nuketown Zombies transforms the familiar Nuketown setting into a dedicated Zombies survival map. It is separate from Nuketown 2025, the competitive multiplayer version included with Black Ops 2.

The map takes place after the nuclear explosion shown at the end of a multiplayer match on the original Nuketown. Players fight successive rounds of zombies while navigating the destroyed houses, gardens and central street.

Access to Nuketown Zombies is included with the Black Ops 2 Season Pass. The Season Pass also covers the game’s four main DLC packs, but Nuketown Zombies is bonus content rather than the first pack in that sequence.

The first major DLC pack was Revolution. Activision announced Revolution shortly before the Nuketown Zombies release date, confirming four multiplayer maps, the Die Rise Zombies map, the Turned Zombies mode and the Peacekeeper weapon.

The announced release went ahead on 17 January, making Nuketown Zombies available to eligible PlayStation 3 and PC players. Black Ops 2 later received Uprising, Vengeance and Apocalypse, completing its four-pack DLC run.
