Nintendo have today announced that Ubisoft’s upcoming Splinter Cell Blacklist will receive a Wii U version as well as the previously confirmed console versions. Many of the top gaming websites have been creating numerous rumours and gossip about a supposed Wii U edition, and now them little whispers have turned into a reality.
The release date for the Wii U version is the exact same as the PS3, PC and Xbox 360 versions, which is August 20th in North America and August 23 in the United Kingdom.
On the Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, players can experience the game’s stealth and action gameplay using the unique features of the Wii U GamePad. The GamePad’s touchscreen allows for seamless weapon selection, gadget deployment, and navigation through the game’s menus. It also provides a map and radar display, enabling players to have quick access to information and tactical options.
Additionally, the Wii U version of the stealth title supports off-TV play, meaning players can continue their gameplay experience on the Wii U GamePad’s screen while the TV is in use for other purposes.
Ubisoft have said that Nintendo’s console will provide much enhanced gameplay features via the GamePad controller.
