Splinter Cell Blacklist art director Scott Lee hosted a stage show at the London MCM Expo last weekend in which more info and additional details were revealed about the upcoming espionage/action game.
The newest edition of the Splinter Cell series will follow lead character Sam Fisher as he sets out to command an elite team of counter-terrorist operatives called the ‘Fourth Echelon’ in a nail biting race against the clock to stop a deadly terrorist organization from successfully completing their objectives via all the targets on their Blacklist.
All in attendance were treated to a demo of the game in which various new features were on display for all to see. There was a lot of old content that had been seen way back in January of this year. However, additional features were also on show like switching between the game modes for multiplayer (on the fly) with no scraping through all those menus.
Fourteen brand new co-op maps were also revealed too, with none of them from previous installments of the franchise. The overall customization of the title has also been enhanced considerably with various options for players gear (colours, camouflage styles, goggles etc) that’s going to have an effect on the look of your own personal avatar and their weapon.
Also announced by Lee, was the (perfectionist) difficulty setting which see’s Sam Fisher have some of his ability’s taken away to make the game a lot harder than usual. The difficulty will be enough really, but that added ingredient will only make for an expert setting for players.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be out on August 20th in North America, August 22nd in Australia, and August 23rd, 2013 in Europe. The game will be available on the Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii U.
