Ubisoft have given out details on the exclusive content that’s going to be on the PS4 and PlayStation 3 versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The detailed explanation goes into how the Assassin’s Creed III Liberation character Aveline de Grandpré gels into the upcoming pirate-themed action/adventure game.

Aveline’s storyline will be an hour long, and it’ll be mixed up into three separate missions for players to complete. AC4 is set before the Vita’s Liberation and console version AC 3, but Aveline’s missions in the new game will take place after the conclusion that she had in her previous installment.
Lead writer Darby McDevitt said via the Ubisoft blog: “It’s not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin’s Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline’s missions are like a short story.”
He added: “It’s a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older.” Jill Murray will be the writer for Aveline’s story’s in Black Flag, the man who wrote Liberation.
Assassin’s Creed 4 which stars as British privateer-turned-pirate Edward Kenway, makes it’s way to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS4, PC and the Nintendo Wii U later this fall.
