Microsoft will be launching the halo 4 Game of The Year Edtion for $49.99 in a couple of months time for the Xbox 360 console. The date is October, but a specific day is yet to be announced by the firm. The news comes from IGN who leaked an image of the game’s cover art and features yesterday.

A statement from a spokesperson at Microsoft provided the following:

A ‘Game of the Year Edition’ of Halo 4 will be offered this October, offering tremendous value for fans who want to enjoy one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2012, and additional DLC all in one place,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement. “We will have more details to share during the live stream of the Halo Global Championship Finals this Sunday.

The leaked image suggests that the GOTY Edition will include a War Games Map Pass, digital content that’s released as typical pre-order bonuses, Spartan Ops Season 1, and Halo 4 Champions Bundle. Additional details will become available from Sunday as Microsoft are set to reveal the version then.

The Game of the Year Edition includes the following bonus content

All map packs: The DLC map packs released for Halo 4, including the Crimson, Majestic, and Castle map packs, are included. These packs added new multiplayer maps for players to enjoy.

Spartan Ops: This cooperative multiplayer mode, consisting of episodic missions, was included in the Game of the Year Edition. Players can experience an additional story-driven campaign set within the Halo 4 universe.

Specialisations: The Game of the Year Edition often included early access to the eight multiplayer Specialisations that were originally released as post-launch content. These Specialisations allow players to unlock unique armour mods and abilities for their Spartan characters.
