Sony has announced the lineup of free PlayStation Plus games for May 2023, and subscribers will have access to three titles. It’s important to note that all PS Plus subscribers, regardless of their subscription level, can claim these games for free. Once claimed, subscribers can keep these games as long as they maintain their subscription to the service.
Unlike the games offered through PS Plus Extra and Premium, which are frequently rotated in and out of availability, PS Plus subscribers can keep the free games forever as long as they remain subscribed to the service. This feature is a significant reason why many PlayStation gamers anticipate the free PS Plus games every month. In May 2023, subscribers will be able to claim three new titles to add to their digital library.
Three Free Games Starting May 2nd
Starting on Tuesday May 2nd, PS Plus members can claim three games for free: Descenders, Chivalry 2 and Grid Legends. All three games will have versions available for both PS4 and PS5. Descenders is a cycling game, Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer medieval combat game and Grid Legends is a racing game. While these games received generally favourable reviews, they may not be for everyone, and some subscribers may have been hoping for more mainstream titles. Nonetheless, the fact that PlayStation Plus subscribers get to keep the games permanently as long as they remain subscribed remains a big draw for many players.

Sony has announced a new game that will be available on PS Plus Extra on the day of its release, May 16th. The game is a new puzzle title called Humanity. While Sony has not yet announced all of the new games coming to the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers in May 2023, this day one release is sure to excite subscribers who have opted for the more expensive tiers.
Some subscribers on both Xbox Gold and PS Plus get extremely frustrated at the lack of quality titles available for free. It has to be said that Sony have been far more rewarding and the poor games released on Xbox live gold needs to get better for sure.
