The Rising Tide: A Mysterious Letter and a Forgotten Land

The story begins with a mysterious letter arriving at Clive’s hideaway, asking for help to rescue the Dominant of Leviathan, the long-lost and powerful water creature known as an Eikon.

To answer this call, Clive and his friends must journey to a hidden land called Mysidia, where they will uncover the tragic history of a forgotten people.

Unleashing the Power of Leviathan

During his adventures in Mysidia, Clive will obtain a new set of incredible abilities called the Eikonic Abilities of Leviathan the Lost. With these abilities, Clive can:

• Control the tides and drown enemies near and far with the terrifying might of the water Eikon.
• Summon a massive sea-spitting serpent that can strike enemies from great distances with pinpoint precision (this is called the “Serpent’s Cry” Eikonic Feat).

Exploring New Locations and Facing Deadly Threats

In addition to learning more about Mysidia and its people through side stories, players will also encounter new threats and challenges.

One such challenge is the ominous Aire of Hours, a new stage set in the ruins of an ancient civilisation.

Here, players will face the dreaded tonberries of Final Fantasy XVI, creatures known for their sharp knives and deadly attacks.

The Ultimate Showdown: Clive vs. Leviathan

As if that weren’t enough, The Rising Tide will also feature the highly anticipated confrontation between Clive and the legendary Eikon, Leviathan.

Players will have the chance to battle this powerful water creature and witness the epic clash firsthand. This follows on from the much-promised action oriented gameplay that the latest entry has delivered.

The Kairos Gate: A New Endgame Challenge

After completing The Rising Tide and the main game, players can unlock a new and challenging game mode called the Kairos Gate. In this mode, players will face wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies in a virtual underworld.

Only by using both strength and strategy will Clive be able to survive the Kairos Gate and emerge victorious with its richest rewards.

The Kairos Gate features 20 stages, each more difficult than the last. Players can maximise their battle performance to earn points and find new materials and weapons to upgrade Clive’s abilities.

The top players on the global leaderboard will be recognised for their skills and determination.

Special Bonuses and Free Game Updates

Players who purchase The Rising Tide or the Expansion Pass will receive special bonus items, including:

• A reimagined version of the “Curtana,” the signature weapon used by the Warrior of Light in Final Fantasy XIV.
• Two new background music tracks called “Torn from the Heavens” and “Through the Maelstrom,” which can be played in the hideaway.

Additionally, a free patch update (Version 1.30) will be available for all Final Fantasy XVI players on April 18th. This update will bring quality-of-life improvements, such as:

• A “Quick Complete” function to return to quest givers immediately.
• Icon updates for important character quests.
• A new “Skill Set” feature that allows players to save up to five unique ability and feat sets.
• Adjustments to abilities and accessories for easier use.
• A new “Custom” controller type that lets players freely customise button layouts.
• Improvements to Photo Mode, including tone correction, screen effects, and more.
• Numerous new background music tracks (orchestrion rolls) added to the game.
