Fortnite Brings the World of Avatar: The Last Airbender to Life

In the ever-evolving world of Fortnite, the popular battle royale game has now welcomed a new and exciting crossover – the “Elements” event, inspired by the beloved anime series Avatar: The Last Airbender.

This limited-time event invites players to immerse themselves in the rich world of Avatar, where the mastery of the four elements – water, earth, fire, and air – is the ultimate power.

Through a series of quests and challenges, Fortnite fans can now harness these elemental abilities and use them to their advantage in the battle royale setting.

Unlocking the Power of the Elements

At the heart of the Elements event are the bending abilities that players can acquire and wield.

By visiting shrines scattered across the Fortnite island, players can open “Bending Scroll Containers” to unlock a specific elemental technique.

The water bending ability allows players to hurl sharp, icy projectiles at their opponents, while also steadily restoring their health when in water.

Earth bending grants the power to summon chunks of earth to create defensive wall barriers, much like the ice wall item that was previously in the loot pool.

You can also use the Earth item to launch attacks at foes.

Fire bending enables players to produce flames and unleash arcs of fire or devastating aerial attacks. This does seem to be the weakest at first glance though.

Air bending enhances mobility, granting the ability to traverse great distances with “air wheel” or launch themselves and nearby players into the air with “air jump”.

There’s no-doubt that this ability item is by far the most OP and will be a fan-favourite within the community. It’s literally one of the best mobility items added since the Kinetic Blade.

These bending abilities offer a fresh and engaging gameplay experience, providing players with a range of new tactical options to approach combat and exploration within the BR world.

Two Tracks of Rewards

To complement the introduction of elemental bending, the “Elements” event features two distinct reward tracks for players to progress through.

The free reward track offers a variety of themed items, including an “Elemental Cycle Spray”, a “Four Elements Banner Back Bling”, and the iconic “Sokka’s Space Sword Pickaxe”. Players can also earn “Battle Pass Rank Ups” and unlock the impressive “Appa Glider” by collecting a certain number of “Chakras” during the event.

For those who wish to delve deeper into the Avatar universe, the paid premium reward track is available for 1,000 V-Bucks (Fortnite’s in-game currency). This track includes the coveted “Aang Outfit” and its “Avatar State” variant, as well as additional emotes, sprays, and a “Momo Messenger Back Bling” inspired by Aang’s beloved companion.

To accommodate the introduction of the elemental bending abilities, the existing Olympian Powers have been temporarily removed from the game.

These powers, which granted players access to divine abilities inspired by the Greek mythology theme of Myths and Mortals, have been vaulted for the duration of the “Elements” event.

This shift represents Fortnite’s commitment to providing fresh and diverse gameplay experiences, allowing players to explore the rich world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and harness the power of the elements in new and exciting ways.

A Crossover Celebration for Avatar Fans

The attention to detail in the bending abilities, the themed rewards, and the overall integration of the Avatar universe into the Fortnite landscape showcases the developers’ dedication to delivering a truly immersive crossover experience.

Whether players are long-time Fortnite gamers or newcomers drawn in by the Avatar collaboration, the Elements event promises to captivate and entertain.

With the promise of more quests, challenges, and rewards to unlock over the course of the event, there’s a lot to love about this latest v29.20 Apr 12 hotfix update.
