Fortnite’s Kinetic Blade, a katana, isn’t in Chapter 4 Season 2. This season left many in awe of the altered battle royale map. The map’s makeover, suiting the MEGA season, brought Japanese cyberpunk-inspired POIs, liked by many.
The Kinetic Blade mirrored this vibe, serving as a transport device and a weapon. Powered by Kinetic Ore, it enabled swift navigation, delivering hefty damage to enemies. Its versatility resembled the Shockwave Hammer of Chapter 4 Season 1 but proved more balanced.

However, the Kinetic Blade is now absent from all Fortnite modes. This may tie to a recently found exploit enabling risk-free enemy elimination. Gamers reported exploit abusers, prompting Epic Games to ban culprits and withdraw the blade from tournaments.
Strangely, the blade wasn’t initially withdrawn from all modes. The official Fortnite Status account says the blade will remain vaulted until season’s end. Fortunately, other options like Spider-Man Web-Shooters, Rogue Bikes, Nitro Drifter, and ODM Gear offer mobility.
Although the ODM Gear also got vaulted for the same reasons, it’s since been reinstated as an item for movement in the game. There’s no chance of the Katana blade having such luck though and it definitely won’t be reintroduced in the foreseeable.
The blade’s importance this season linked to multiple quests. Thankfully, these quests are either auto-completed or replaced, ensuring players can still earn XP and level up their Battle Pass.
Fortnite can be played on Mobile Devices, Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
