As the Major 2 Grand Finals approach, Fortnite has unexpectedly vaulted a well-liked mobility item. There’s no denying that this Fortnite season has been rather distinctive thus far. With its futuristic, cyberpunk theme, it introduced gamers to the immense POI known as Mega City. In addition the beautiful surrounding Japanese-inspired areas. This new location was the primary focus for promoting Chapter 4 Season 2. However, other features caught the attention of players and may have even enticed some newcomers to try the game.

Upon the initial reveal of the Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass, fans quickly discovered they could unlock Eren Jaeger in Fortnite later in the season and try out Attack on Titan’s ODM Gear, a rapid mobility item that complements the season’s frenetic atmosphere. The item functions similarly to the now-vaulted Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters. Allowing players to latch onto structures or objects in the environment and swing from place to place.

ODM Gear: A Popular Mobility Item Temporarily Removed

However, the ODM Gear has now been removed from tournaments and the Arena mode. Epic Games has stated that this decision was made due to a bug that made it impossible to enter build mode after using the item. To compensate for the potential loss of mobility, more Kinetic Blades will spawn on the map. With the FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals just a few days away, an error that prevents building would be far too critical to leave in the game.

The Fortnite Champion Series represents the most significant competitive Fortnite event of the year. Professional players have been training intensively to secure their place in the Fortnite Global Championship in Copenhagen later in 2023. It would be unfair for them to enter a game and be unable to play it as they normally would.

Those interested in watching the Major 2 Grand Finals can do so at Legends Landing on 13th and 14th May, and they’ll even receive a free FNCS Defender back bling as a reward. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved soon, and the ODM Gear can be reintroduced to competitive modes.

Fortnite can be played on various platforms including Windows PC, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Mobile.
