The headline addition to Season 2 is the introduction of Mrs. Freeze, an Elseworlds variant of the classic Batman antagonist, Mr. Freeze.

This gender-bent version of the character will join the existing roster of playable anti-heroes, bringing her cryogenic abilities to the fray. The official X/Twitter account posted and pinned a tweet that showcased the character to their followers today.

Season 2 is structured into two distinct episodes, each bringing its own set of additions to the game:

Episode 3: Frozen Hearts

This initial episode introduces a new Infamy gear set inspired by Killer Frost, alongside Notorious weapons based on Firefly and Parasite.

Players will also have access to a new snow-covered Elseworlds map, adding variety to the game’s environments.

A new Brainiac encounter featuring mind-controlled versions of Superman and The Flash will challenge players’ combat skills.

Episode 4: Winter

The second episode continues the icy theme with a Captain Cold-inspired Infamy set and new Notorious weapons based on Icicle and The Trickster.

This episode will also introduce new endgame Incursion missions and another Brainiac fight, this time pitting players against Superman and Green Lantern.

Throughout the season, players can expect a steady stream of new content, including costumes, banners, and other cosmetic items available through the game’s Item Shop.

Gameplay and Technical Improvements

In preparation for Season 2, Rocksteady has been addressing technical issues and player feedback. A recent update focused on bug fixes, targeting common problems such as server errors, gameplay glitches, and crash issues.

This update also included new Pride Month-themed banners, emotes, and outfits, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to inclusivity and ongoing support for the title.

Context and Reception

It’s worth noting that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has faced challenges since its launch.

The game received mixed reviews and reportedly underperformed in sales, according to Warner Bros. Discovery.

Critics and players alike expressed concerns about the game’s plot, live-service model, and post-launch DLC plans.

Despite these setbacks, Rocksteady’s continued support and the substantial content planned for Season 2 suggest a long-term commitment to improving and expanding this latest entry.

The introduction of Mrs. Freeze and the array of new content may help to reinvigorate interest in the title.

While Season 2’s content has been detailed, speculation continues about future additions to the game.

Previous leaks have hinted at the potential inclusion of other DC villains such as Deathstroke and Killer Croc as playable characters in future updates. However, Rocksteady has not officially confirmed these rumours thus far.

S1 DLC brought us The Joker, arguably one of the greatest villains of all-time and certainly up there in the DC universe for sure.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. PlayStation Plus Premium recently offered a free trial but that has since expired. If you want to try out the title then be sure to keep a look out for more freebies like this on other platforms in the near future.

As the game enters its second season, it will be interesting to see how these new additions and improvements impact the player base and overall reception of the title.

The upcoming season represents a significant opportunity for Rocksteady to address player concerns and potentially turn the tide of public opinion.

With its mix of new playable content, cosmetic options, and technical improvements, S2 may prove to be a crucial period in the game’s lifecycle.

As always, GLN will continue to monitor the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and provide updates as new information becomes available.
