  • Developers tease future updates and changes to the game.

Behaviour Interactive have shared their plans for the Dead by Daylight July roadmap on social media and hinted at future changes.

Let’s dive into what’s coming and what players can look forward to.

July Roadmap: New Mode and a Famous Face

Behaviour Interactive has laid out their schedule for July in a recent post on X/Twitter, and it’s packed with new content. Here’s what players can expect:

  1. Waterfront Massacre Collection (4th July) This is likely a set of new outfits or items for characters in the game.
  2. Dead by Daylight x Tomb Raider Chapter (16th July) The famous explorer Lara Croft is joining the game as a new Survivor. She’ll come with three special abilities:
    • Finesse: Lara can vault over obstacles faster when she’s not injured.
    • Hardened: After doing certain tasks, Lara can see where the Killer is instead of screaming.
    • Specialist: Lara gets bonuses for searching chests and doing well on generators.
  3. The Archives/Tome 20 Mythic (16th July) This will give players more story information about two characters: The Spirit (a Killer) and Yui Kimura (a Survivor).
  4. 2v8 Game Mode (25th July) This new way to play will have two Killers hunting eight Survivors. It’s a big change from the usual 1 vs 4 setup.
  5. New Collections (25th and 30th July) More outfits and items will be released, called “Blood and Bones” and “Forgotten Memory”.

Future Changes and Updates

The Dead by Daylight team has been listening to players and is planning more updates:

  • Character Changes: They’re working on improving Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers, two movie villains in the game.
  • Map Updates: Several areas will be changed, including the Swamp, Garden of Joy, Badham Preschool, and Midwich Elementary.
  • New Rewards: Players who reach high levels (up to 100) will get special prizes.
  • Game Improvements: They’re looking at changing how generators work, updating perks, and maybe adding voice lines for older characters.

The developers are also thinking about how to make the game fairer. For example, they’re looking at making survivor noises more balanced and giving more options to special “Legendary” characters.

Community Concerns Answered

Players have been asking about several issues, and the developers have responded:

  • Character Outfits: Some characters get more new outfits than others. The team explained that more popular characters often get more outfits.
  • Mobile Game Exclusives: Some outfits are only available in the mobile version of the game. Unfortunately, these will likely stay exclusive.
  • Remote Hooking: This was a feature that let Killers hook Survivors from far away. It was tested in an event, but players didn’t like it, so it’s being reconsidered.

Cross-Progression Coming Soon?

One big feature that might be coming soon is cross-progression. This would let players use their progress and items across different gaming systems.

While it’s not confirmed for July, rumours suggest it might arrive this summer.

Dead by Daylight is entering its ninth year, and it’s clear the developers are still working hard to keep the game fresh and exciting. The devs look like they maybe making this a recurring theme, as last month in May a roadmap for the month was shared that coincided with the title’s 8th anniversary celebrations.

The new 2v8 mode could change how the game is played, offering a more chaotic and thrilling experience.

Lara Croft’s addition brings a well-known iconic character to the game, which might attract new players.

The planned updates show that Behaviour Interactive is listening to its community. They’re addressing long-standing issues with certain characters and maps, while also adding new content to keep things interesting.

For younger players or those new to the game, these changes mean there will be more to explore and learn.

The new game mode might be a good chance to try playing with friends, as there will be more survivors on each team.

While many of the future updates are still mysterious, it’s clear that Dead by Daylight has a lot in store for its player-base. The title continues to evolve, mixing its core horror gameplay with new characters, modes, and features.

As we move through summer and into the rest of the year, players can expect more announcements and surprises. Stay connected to the social channels of the devs and check our site out periodically as we post news on this title quite often.
