Key Highlights:

  • Chucky leaves Dead by Daylight stores on 24 November, but existing owners keep him.
  • His DLC and cosmetics will be 50% off, with sale dates varying by platform.
  • Three Chucky perks receive new names for non-owners, while existing perks remain unchanged.

Behaviour Interactive will remove Chucky and his associated cosmetics from Dead by Daylight stores on 24 November 2026, ending new purchases of the licensed Killer nearly three years after his introduction.

The character, known in-game as The Good Guy, will remain fully playable for anyone who unlocks him before 4pm GMT (11am ET) on 24 November. Existing owners will also retain their purchased cosmetics, including the popular Tiffany Valentine outfit featuring Jennifer Tilly’s voice acting.

Behaviour’s official Chucky content FAQ confirms a final 50% sale on the DLC and related cosmetics, although the starting dates differ between platforms.

Xbox, Windows and Epic Games Store discounts begin on 26 October, followed by Nintendo Switch in Europe on 27 October. PlayStation users must wait until 2 November, while the Steam promotion begins on 10 November. All discounts end when the content is withdrawn on 24 November.

Importantly, purchasing Chucky before the deadline will preserve more than the ability to play him. Owners can continue spending Bloodpoints, levelling up the Killer and unlocking his three Prestige cosmetics and three Perk Charms. However, additional store outfits must be purchased before removal, and Behaviour has confirmed there will be no future Chucky cosmetics.

The departure also affects his three character-specific perks. Players who already own Chucky retain their original names and descriptions, while the general Killer perk pool offers renamed versions for everyone else:

  • Hex: Two Can Play becomes Hex: Eye For An Eye.
  • Friends ‘Til the End becomes One Track Mind.
  • Batteries Included becomes Gaining Steam.

These abilities will remain accessible without purchasing Chucky, ensuring the departure does not permanently lock their gameplay effects behind an unavailable licence.

Batteries Included was previously among the abilities addressed in Chucky’s pre-release balance adjustments before the Killer officially joined the game in November 2023.

Behaviour has also confirmed that previously unlocked content will remain available through supported cross-progression, achievements will be converted into generic challenges, and future bug fixes can still be applied to Chucky. Refunds will not be offered because existing owners retain their content.

Chucky follows other licensed horror icons that have disappeared from sale. Pinhead’s Hellraiser Chapter was withdrawn in 2025, while Michael Myers and Laurie Strode became unavailable to new players in January 2026.

However, these departures do not necessarily mean a permanent goodbye. The return of Stranger Things to Dead by Daylight in November 2023 demonstrated that previously withdrawn licensed characters can become available again when agreements are restored.

The timing has also prompted speculation about a potential standalone Child’s Play game. Similar questions surrounded Pinhead’s departure before the announcement of Hellraiser: Revival, but Behaviour has not confirmed that another Chucky game is responsible for the latest removal.

I think the biggest concern is the permanent gap this could create between existing and future players. Current owners can continue using Chucky and his distinctive third-person gameplay, while newcomers could lose the opportunity to unlock one of the game’s most recognisable horror characters.

For anyone planning to purchase The Good Guy or his remaining outfits, the final deadline is 24 November at 4pm GMT. Behaviour has not announced whether the character will ever return to sale.
