Grandpa’s Enhanced Abilities

As we reported 3 weeks ago, the developers have fine-tuned Grandpa, one of the game’s most unique characters, aiming to make him a more crucial part of the Family’s strategy.
Several of his special abilities, called Perks, have been adjusted to make them more powerful and accessible earlier in the game. For instance, Grandpa’s Suffocating Grip Perk, which makes it harder for Victims to escape, is now available right from the start.
Another Perk, ‘Nobody Escapes Hell‘, has been moved to an earlier level, making Grandpa a force to be reckoned with much sooner.
These changes have made playing as Grandpa more appealing and impactful.
The devs have also tweaked other Perks to pack more punch. ‘Brute Strength’ now deals more damage, while ‘Swinging for the Fences’ reduces the energy cost of attacks even further.
‘Excited Grandpa’ speeds up his special sonar ability, helping the Family track down Victims more quickly.
But it’s not all about making life easier for the Family. The game aims to keep things balanced and challenging for both sides. For example, the ‘Nobody Escapes Hell’ Perk now makes it 50% harder for Victims to pick locks, up from 40% in the previous version.
This has created some nail-biting moments as Victims try to make their escape!
Improvements to The Mill Map
The Mill, one of the game’s spookiest maps, has received some much-needed touch-ups too.
Players had reported odd lighting effects and texture glitches, which the developers have now addressed.
The creepy wells now look properly sinister, and the night-time version of the map has more realistic lighting. These changes have made the atmosphere even more immersive and spine-chilling.
An irritating bug that was causing Victim players to accidentally pick up traps has also been squashed. Now, when you disarm an electric trap, you won’t find it mysteriously appearing in your inventory.
For those who enjoy dressing up their characters, there’s good news. The Cook’s ‘Fill ‘er Up’ outfit, which was delayed from its original July 30th release, became available in the shop on 1st August.
If you’re interested, you can now grab this new look for £2.38 (about $2.99).
It’s worth noting that these changes come hot on the heels of recent additions to the game. Not long ago, a new Family member called Hands was introduced, along with a revived Victim character named Maria.
The Mill map itself is also a relatively recent addition, showing that the developers are committed to keeping the game fresh and exciting. All these updates and fixes were applied during a scheduled maintenance period that began at 1 p.m. BST (8 a.m. EST) on 1st August.
Players have now had a few days to explore and experience these new features and improvements.
Whether you prefer to play as the terrifying Family or the desperate Victims, there’s plenty to explore in this latest update to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
