Key Highlights:
- Reflex skin unavailable in Fortnite’s Item Shop for 2,000 days.
- First skin to reach this milestone of absence.
- Last appeared in the Item Shop on March 4, 2019.
The Fortnite community has recently highlighted a remarkable milestone: the Reflex skin has been absent from the game’s Item Shop for 2,000 days, making it the first cosmetic item to reach this lengthy period of unavailability.
Fortnite, known for its constantly rotating Item Shop that features both new and returning cosmetics, has left players waiting for the Reflex skin since its last appearance on March 4th, 2019.
This absence spans nearly five and a half years, almost as long as Fortnite’s battle royale mode has been in existence.
ShiinaBR on X/Twitter who’s a known leaker for the series brought this incredible statistic to the attention of their followers in a recent tweet.
The Reflex skin, part of the Counterattack Set, is classified as a rare outfit that typically costs 1,200 V-Bucks when available.
History and Features of the Reflex Skin
It was initially released during Chapter 1 Season 7 with the planes and could also be obtained through a promotion with NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards before its Item Shop debut.
Interestingly, the skin received an update in version v29.40, offering a higher-detailed version.
Since Update V28.20, players have had the option to choose between both versions of the skin, adding to its appeal.
The prolonged absence of this cosmetic has likely contributed to its rarity among the playerbase. It’s presumed to be one of the least-owned skins in the title, given its limited availability window.
While Reflex holds the current record for longest absence, it’s not alone in its extended hiatus. The World Warrior skin follows closely behind, having been missing for 1,854 days as of this writing.
The future of the Reflex skin in Fortnite’s Item Shop remains uncertain. With the vast number of skins now available in the game and the constant introduction of new collaborations and original designs, it’s unclear if or when Reflex might make a return.
This situation highlights the ever-evolving nature of Fortnite’s cosmetic offerings and the potential value placed on rare or long-absent items by the game’s community.
As Epic Games continues to update the Item Shop regularly, players will be watching to see if Reflex makes an unexpected return or continues to extend its record-breaking absence.
