Microsoft has revealed the Xbox Game Pass September 2025 Wave 1 lineup, and it’s the big one many of us have been waiting years for. Hollow Knight: Silksong finally arrives today, September 4th as a day-one Game Pass release, cementing this wave as one of the strongest in recent memory.
Day-One Additions
Kicking things off, I Am Your Beast is available now across cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. It’s a fast, stylish FPS with a covert revenge hook, and from what I’ve seen, its tunnel network system encourages creative hit-and-run play.
Nine Sols is also available now, a hand-drawn 2D action-platformer with Sekiro-inspired combat that’s already making waves for its lore-rich worldbuilding.
Today on September 4th, Game Pass adds two major drops: Hollow Knight: Silksong and Cataclismo. Silksong needs no introduction. Playing as Hornet, players explore a haunted kingdom filled with traps, predators, and a layered combat system that builds on the original’s Metroidvania design.
I’ve played enough previews to say this will be a defining moment for Game Pass in 2025. On the same day, Cataclismo lands for PC players, mixing RTS strategy with fortress building against relentless waves of horrors.
Family and Simulation Content
September 10th sees PAW Patrol World return to the library. These licensed games rarely get headlines, but they’re quietly important for family subscribers.
Then, on September 16th, RoadCraft arrives, a construction sim where you operate vehicles to repair roads, bridges, and infrastructure after natural disasters.
From my experience, these grounded sims tend to have niche but loyal followings, and RoadCraft looks like it’s doubling down on realism.

Extra Perks in September
There’s more than just the new games. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants DLC drops September 4, and while it isn’t included in Game Pass, members can grab a 10% discount.
On September 5th, Ultimate members get a 10-hour early access trial for EA Sports NHL 26, with progress carrying into the full release.
Leaving September 15
As always, a few titles are cycling out. Make sure to download them or use your membership discount before they disappear:
- All You Need is Help (Cloud, Console, PC)
- Wargroove 2 (Cloud, Console, PC)
- We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie (Cloud, Console, PC)
September’s first wave shows Microsoft isn’t slowing down its Game Pass momentum. Silksong is the clear headliner, but the mix of indies, family titles, and sims highlights how Game Pass caters to multiple audiences.
Having covered subscription services for years, I’d say this is the strongest opening lineup we’ve seen since Starfield’s debut in 2023.
