The new trailer showcases Bob’s signature blend of speed and power while embracing the character’s larger-than-life personality. Sporting a colourful tracksuit and carrying a stack of cheeseburgers alongside onigiri, the self-proclaimed “Speed and Weight” fighter looks bigger than ever as he prepares to make his long-awaited comeback.

Despite his heavyweight appearance, Bob retains the fast-paced martial arts style that made him popular after debuting in Tekken 6. The gameplay trailer highlights his rapid movement, hard-hitting combos and several humorous moments, including voice lines and animations that see him absorb attacks with his stomach before launching devastating counterattacks.

Bandai Namco has also confirmed Bob’s release schedule. Players who own the Season 3 Character Pass will receive early access beginning August 19, while everyone else will be able to purchase the character separately from August 24.

Bob follows Kunimitsu as the latest addition to Tekken 8’s third season of downloadable content, with more fighters already on the way. Bandai Namco has confirmed that Roger Jr. will be the next character to join the roster, with a full gameplay reveal scheduled during EVO France in October. The publisher has also announced that Yujiro Hanma, from Baki the Grappler, is planned to arrive as a guest fighter in early 2027.

Tekken 8 continues the long-running Mishima family storyline, following Jin Kazama’s battle to stop his father, Kazuya Mishima, as global conflict escalates. Alongside its cinematic story mode, the latest entry introduced the aggressive Heat System, expanded character customisation and a range of single-player modes, helping it remain one of the genre’s flagship fighting games. I think Bob’s return is one of the more entertaining additions to Tekken 8’s roster. His design has always balanced comedy with genuinely effective gameplay, and this trailer shows Bandai Namco has stayed true to that formula. While his appearance grabs attention first, longtime players know he’s capable of surprising speed, making him a unique choice among Tekken’s heavyweight fighters.

With Bob’s release now just weeks away and Roger Jr. waiting in the wings, Tekken 8’s Season 3 roadmap is continuing to build momentum as Bandai Namco expands its roster with both returning favourites and crossover characters.
