Disney Dreamlight Valley Honeyglow Woods expansion arrives on 8 July, with Gameloft introducing Winnie the Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore as the latest Disney characters to join the ever-growing life simulation game.
Revealed during this year’s Summer Showcase, the paid Adventure Pack celebrates Winnie the Pooh’s 100th anniversary and introduces an entirely new biome inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood. Players will be able to explore Honeyglow Woods, uncover a new mystery and eventually invite all three beloved characters to live permanently in their valley.
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Honeyglow Woods expansion centres around the Honeyglow Woods biome, which is divided into four unique sub-biomes alongside a dungeon for players to explore. As the story unfolds, Pooh Bear, Piglet and Eeyore will each play a role before becoming full-time valley residents once their quests have been completed.
Several new gameplay features are also arriving with the expansion. One of the headline additions is beekeeping, allowing players to care for bees while helping colourful flowers bloom around their homes. The Adventure Pack also introduces the classic Pooh Sticks mini-game, new Character Houses, fresh Blueprints and a collection of craftable items created using golden honey.
Beyond the new activities, players will also investigate the mystery surrounding the Eternal Oak, giving the expansion its own story to follow rather than simply introducing new Disney characters.
Gameloft has confirmed that the Disney Dreamlight Valley Honeyglow Woods expansion will cost £13.99 / $16.99 / €16.99 for existing players. Those who don’t already own the game can purchase the new Honeyglow Woods Edition for £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99, which bundles the base game together with the new Adventure Pack. Players will also receive 2,000 Moonstones to use in-game.
The announcement also included a brief look at what’s coming to the base game over the next few months. Wreck-It Ralph is scheduled to arrive as a free character update in July, while Gameloft has confirmed that an entirely new DDV expansion will be revealed during the next showcase event in October.
In my opinion, this is one of the strongest themed expansions Disney Dreamlight Valley has received. Winnie the Pooh has remained one of Disney’s most recognisable characters for generations, and building an entire biome around the Hundred Acre Wood feels like a natural fit rather than simply adding another character to the roster. Features such as beekeeping and Pooh Sticks also give the expansion its own identity instead of relying solely on nostalgia.
For players who have been waiting for another substantial content update, the Disney Dreamlight Valley Honeyglow Woods expansion looks set to deliver far more than just three new villagers. Between a dedicated biome, new gameplay systems, additional crafting options and an original mystery to solve, it offers one of the biggest reasons yet to return to the valley this summer.
