Medal of Honor Warfighter Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack Out Now

Electronic Arts released the Medal of Honor Warfighter Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 18 December 2012, expanding the game’s multiplayer with two new maps and additional weapon content.

Developed by Danger Close Games, the DLC was created as a cross-promotion with Sony Pictures’ Zero Dark Thirty, the Kathryn Bigelow film based on the hunt for Osama bin Laden. The content was known as The Hunt Map Pack in Europe.

Darra Gun Market and Chitral Compound were the two new multiplayer maps. Both locations had previously featured in Medal of Honor Warfighter’s single-player campaign before being adapted for competitive multiplayer.

Darra Gun Market was inspired by the arms bazaar in Darra Adam Khel, Pakistan. Danger Close designed the multiplayer version around narrow streets and densely packed buildings, creating a close-quarters combat environment.

Chitral Compound offered a contrasting setting based on the mountainous Chitral region of Pakistan. The location provided a more rugged battlefield while retaining the military setting established during the campaign.

The map pack also added six new weapon configurations, 14 weapon camouflage skins and 10 multiplayer ranks. Across Darra Gun Market and Chitral Compound, players could access 10 map and multiplayer mode combinations.

Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition owners received the DLC at no additional cost. It was also available separately for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points.

In the US and Canada, EA pledged $1 from each Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack sale made through 19 March 2014 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation as part of its Project HONOR programme.

The Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack became Medal of Honor Warfighter’s major post-launch multiplayer expansion, extending two locations from the campaign into competitive multiplayer less than two months after the base game launched.
