PS Vita owners in Europe briefly had the chance to download Little Deviants for free on 6 February 2013 after the game’s PlayStation Store listing unexpectedly dropped to £0.
Sony had not announced Little Deviants as a free game. The company’s official PS Vita anniversary sale instead reduced it from £11.99 to £6.99 in the UK and from €14.99 to €9.99 in Europe, with PlayStation Plus members receiving an additional 10% discount.
The temporary free listing appears to have affected the game’s digital unlock rather than representing a permanent promotion. Contemporary reports initially confirmed that the full game could be obtained without charge, but the price later returned to £6.99.
Little Deviants was developed by Bigbig Studios and released as a PS Vita launch title in Europe. The game uses the handheld’s touchscreen, rear touch pad, motion controls and other hardware features across a collection of mini-games.
The pricing anomaly was short-lived, but it remains an unusual moment from the early PlayStation Vita storefront era. Sony continued to support digital purchases on the handheld for many years, although the PlayStation Store on PS Vita is now scheduled to stop accepting new purchases worldwide in July 2027.
