The official release date for strategy based game Total War: Rome II has been announced by Sega as September 3rd 2013 worldwide. The PC strategy game will be made available physically and digitally.

If you pre-order the game now, you’ll get access to the Greek States Culture DLC pack on the day of the games official release. The downloadable content unlocks Sparta, Athens and Epirus factions available for play.

There’s also an exclusive collector’s edition that will go on sale too, but the copies are very limited. There will only be 22,000 individual copies that will be available to gamers.

The collector’s edition will include a Tabula game set, a fully functional siege catapult measuring 26cm x 12cm x 12cm, a Total War Cards: Punic Wars game, a high quality canvas map and three Tesserae dice. A fresh trailer should be on the cards soon so make sure to look out for that.

The game is set during the time of the Roman Republic and covers a vast geographical area, including Europe, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East. Players can control various factions from the time period, including Rome, Carthage, and other major powers. Total War: Rome II features a wide variety of playable factions, each with its unique strengths, units, and objectives. Players can recruit and command different types of military units, including infantry, cavalry, siege engines, and naval vessels to engage in epic battles.

The title combines turn-based strategy on the campaign map with real-time tactical battles. Players manage their empire, including construction, diplomacy, and army recruitment, on the campaign map. When battles occur, players engage in real-time tactical combat, commanding units on the battlefield. There are different campaign modes, including a grand campaign that spans several centuries and smaller campaigns focused on specific historical events. Players can pursue various objectives, such as conquering specific regions, building alliances, or achieving cultural or military dominance.
