There was an event at the company’s HQ in Redmond, Washington back in May just after the announcement of the next-gen console and that’s when Microsoft decided to file an official complaint.

The computer giants didn’t want to register the domain name any earlier due to news websites potentially guessing the name of their upcoming next generation video game machine. The Xbox One pre-orders are currently ahead of the PS4 in the United Kingdom at present, so Microsoft are winning the console wars in the UK for the time being.

Microsoft are currently the only major platform owner that has their own domain names, as Nintendo don’t own WiiU.com and Sony do not own Playstation4.com respectively.

The Xbox One console will be coming your way this November for £330 / $500.
